BOARD AND STAFF
MUSIC ORCHARD RICHMOND (MOR)
Laura Ann Singh
Laura Ann Singh is a Richmond-based vocalist, educator, and arts advocate whose work bridges jazz, Latin American music, and contemporary songwriting traditions. A co-founder of the internationally touring ensemble Miramar, she has performed at venues including the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Lincoln Center, appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk series, and was featured in The Guardian for her most recent release of original music in 2025. In addition to her work as a performer, Singh is an active educator and collaborative artist committed to cultural exchange, community engagement, and supporting the next generation of musicians. In 2025, she joined VCU Jazz faculty teaching voice and keeps an active studio of students privately. She brings to board a creative, globally informed perspective shaped by years of experience in performance, education, and arts leadership.
"I am excited to join the board because I deeply believe in Music Orchard’s mission and vision. I was truly moved when I was invited to sing at an event last year and saw firsthand the students’ excitement and joy in performing. Music has an extraordinary ability to connect, empower, and transform lives, and I am honored to support an organization that creates those opportunities for young people."
