Senior Regional
Orchestra Workshop
Music Orchard Richmond’s SRO Workshop for Strings is a dynamic half-day experience designed for middle and high school string students preparing for Senior Regional Orchestra (SRO) auditions. Led by professional teaching artists and college faculty, this workshop offers intensive coaching on audition excerpts, scales, and sight-reading, all in a supportive and motivating environment.
Students receive expert guidance, personalized feedback, and the chance to play alongside peers from across the Richmond region. Whether you’re auditioning for the first time or aiming to sharpen your skills, this workshop helps students feel confident, prepared, and inspired.
REAL FEEDBACK, from REAL students.
“Susanna Klein showing us different ways to learn the excerpt and etude. I really helped with practicing and learning different rhythms and bowings to get a better grasp of what and how I am supposed to play them.”

“Since I got the experience of what the real audition is going to be like then it will help with pressure knowing that I've already done something similar to the real thing.”

“Working on certain rhythms or techniques that I wouldn’t ever usually try in my own practice time. Also the stage fright workshop was extremely helpful for calming my nerves and getting myself situated to perform.”
