“What is Taste the Music?”

Taste the Music is an “Artober” celebration of giving to support music education. Participating business’s pick a item on their menu and donate back $1 or more from every sale of that item to MOR during the entire month of October! All funds go to support inclusive access to music education.

“Ok. But, what kinds of things does that actually fund? $1 doesn’t seem like very much money!”

Great question! It adds up quickly! For example, last year, Jack Browns sold nearly 600 of the beer they choose! That covered 5 hours of music lessons for students in our programs! Triple Crossing sold almost 900 Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza's! Thats almost 9 hours of lessons!

“So you’re telling me, all I have to do to help kids in Richmond get access to music lessons is go out and grab some pizza, a coffee, or a drink?”

Yup! And here’s a secret; pick up a punch card at Smoky Mug on day one, and if you hit 5 out of 6 participating places you can get a FREE ticket to Play it Forward! MOR’s signature fall event.

  • Jack Browns Beer and Burger Joint

    Over on Grove Avenue, we have Jack Browns Beer and Burger Joint donating $1 from the sale of every Voodoo Ranger Beer! Bottoms up!

  • Harry's at Hofheimer

    Feeling a little “devilish?” Pop on over to Harry at Hofheimer’s for a “Devils Pie”, their take on an old-fashioned and to help contribute $1 per drink to MOR! Maybe it will inspire you to pop over to Triple Crossing to wash it down with some pizza!

  • Abi's Books and Brews

    Need some caffeine? Stop in at Abi’s to get a Spiced Apple Pie Latte and chalk up another $1 for MOR! Oh - get a book while your add it! We all need to read more these days!

  • The Veil Brewing

    We’ve gotten a bit spookier here with The Veil Brewing donating $1 from the sale of every Deathless beer sold! We heard this is a limited edition so don’t miss out!

  • The Smoky Mug

    One of our favorite coffee AND BBQ places has stepped in with a ONE DAY ONLY event, October 1st! Stop in to help donate back 15% of ALL sales and grab a BackBeat Blackberry cocktail to donate an other $2 back to MOR! We’ll be there in person so don’t miss out!
